Chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition in which a person experiences severe fatigue. It is collectively referred to the fatigues which ca occurs due to different reason. Today medical field has not understood it completely even now. A study was conducted in the United States, which revealed that almost 4 people among the 1000 are affected by it.
Women are more prone to this disease than men are. Moreover, it has been found that this disease can occurs more frequently in people who are in their 40s and 30s. The symptoms as well vary from patient to patient. Chronic fatigue syndrome can affect all the parts of the body and therefore the symptoms can arise in any of these parts.
The onset of chronic fatigue syndrome is from the occurrence of a flue type illness. In most of the cases, this occurs in the winters. Alternatively the in many cases the patient experiences the mild stress for several months before the actual disease surfaces.
Chronic Fatigue is experienced by mind as well as muscles. The fatigue is so severe that activity levels of the patients come down. In such a condition, any heavy work may cause intense fatigue, which will not go away for about 1 or 2 days even on resting, taking some supplements. It may last for as long as a period of 6 months. The mental fatigue affects the sleep and concentration as well.
A peculiarity of chronic fatigue syndrome is that in this case rest does not prove to be of any use. it affect the immune system of the body as well. Because of the patients, develop other diseases as flue cold, etc. development of lymph nodes is commonly observed in many cases.
Pain and ache especially in the head and along with it in the other parts of the body as well are very common. The different parts of the body as muscles may become tender and therefore pain whenever they are touched or moved. Soreness redness and swelling develop in the muscles. Chronic fatigue syndrome also affects sleep. Affect on sleep further increases the tiredness.
Chronic fatigue syndrome can be of mild type or it can grow into a chronic form as well. It lasts for years and the symptoms are cyclic i.e. they surface, stay for some time and then go away.
