Causes of Inflammation

The causes of inflammation can range from simply having slept wrong on whatever part of your body is inflamed to some sort of a serious injury. You are the best judge about why your body is inflamed. Since you have neither mentioned where the swelling has occurred nor have you stated the degree of inflammation, extremely general information can be dispensed about inflammation. Inflammation on any part of the body close to an injury indicates that there is the presence of an infection. So if you have an open wound and the area around it is inflamed, you should take measures accordingly. Inflammation can also occur if you have slept wrong. The reason for this would be that some part of your muscles may remain pressed for a long period of time and this can lead to inflammation. This is a reason why people who sleep on their side sometimes wake up with puffed faces. One of the best things about inflammation is that it is an indicator that your immune system is working up to full speed. To put it simply, it is the immune system that tells the particular body part that seems to be in peril to start protection by way of inflammation. So if you are experiencing inflammation as a response to some sort of injury or trauma to the body, this is a good sign. It shows that your body is fighting back.

In some severe cases, inflammation can also be a harbinger of more serious disease. Internal inflammation usually signals a case of severe and extreme indigestion, which is also chronic in nature. Sometimes, inflammation can also be an allergic reaction to some unusual foreign object you have been exposed to. Sometimes, people can react negatively to new smells, dirt, dust of a different kind and chemical composition, pain, fumes or basically just about anything that they have never been exposed to before. This can lead to an instant inflammation of the respiratory tract. This is diagnosed as an allergic reaction and should be treated and dealt with accordingly. Depending upon the kind of inflammation you are suffering from, you will be able to determine what needs to be done. Please keep in mind that chronic and severe inflammation can be a serious health hazard. Please make it a point to get medical help if your inflammation lasts more than a month at a time. Ignoring this could lead to serious future problems.
