Visit your dentist:
Of course, the first thing you will want to do is to visit your dentist on a regular basis. That means that you will see your dentist for a cleaning every six months and then follow any recommendations he or she gives. You will also want to take the time to visit your dentist any time you experience pain, bleeding or any other problems with your teeth. Never let pain get out of hand, as dental decay left unchecked can cause serious problems in the future.
Brush and floss:
You have heard it before, but it is so true. Brushing and flossing is necessary when you want to take good care of your teeth. Brushing after every meal and flossing at least once a day is idea. However, you need to at least brush twice a day. Flossing is just as important. So many people skip this very important step. Regular brushing just cannot get in between your teeth like flossing can. Find a good toothbrush, toothpaste that you can live with and floss and make sure you do it regularly.
Stop smoking:
The other big step you can take when you want great teeth is to forego the cigarettes or any other type of tobacco. This can cause oral cancer and at the very least will cause yellow teeth and gum disease. The rule of thumb is that you just shouldn’t do it.
