X-ray

If your doctor suspects that you have sinusitis, he/she may recommend x-ray of the sinuses. This x-ray also detects growth on the inner lining of the nose, if any. These growths called polyps are commonly associated with asthma. Sinus x-rays are normally recommended for older children because young children have undeveloped sinuses. Chest x-ray is normally not recommended for asthma diagnosis. Your doctor may however recommend it to check for other problems in the respiratory passages that may cause breathlessness.
