Different andropause symptoms may include gradual weakening or decrease in energy, decreased sex interest or libido, dysfunctional erection, weakening of muscles and constant muscle pains, sleeping problems, sweating at night, hot flashes, bone loss and infertility.
The above andropause symptoms may be caused by andropause syndrome which is a condition of male’s body when there is lesser than normal secretion of testosterone. Because of this, the responses of the testosterone organs decrease and lower down. Though all men will definitely experience this syndrome, the changes caused by andropause may have different extent.
The function of testosterones in male’s body is to stimulate certain characteristics of male that are not found in females. These characteristics start to show up in the stage of puberty. After reaching a certain age of adulthood, the amount of testosterone decreases gradually. This is the reason why most old men show significant changes in the body composition like smaller bones, smaller voices, lost of body hair and osteoporosis. Andropause symptoms are visible in men at the age of 40 above.
Men younger the 40 are supposed to be sexually active and their sexual hormones should be functioning properly. However, aging men start to develop visceral fats which may also result to the lowering down of testosterone levels. Symptoms may not be disturbing at first since initial symptoms are the same as those symptoms caused by stress and body pressure from day to day work. However, when it is not given much attention, symptoms may worsen which in the long run may lead to complications such as kidney failure and heart related diseases.
If you are experiencing some of the andropause symptoms, better consult your doctor and ask for treatment options. Smoking, too much intake of alcohol and too much stress are also some of the factors that may cause the symptoms to show up. It’s better to be aware of the symptoms so you can take necessary actions. Treatment when andropause is not yet severe is not very hard to obtain. Be honest to your doctor and do not feel shy to open up the signs and changes you are experiencing.
