With the growing number of people getting more aware of the symptoms of stress and its effects in the daily life, massage therapists have, too, been growing in number. In fact, massage therapy has never been a more in demand career.

In the United States, the better news is to find out that a group of highly qualified massage therapists is up and running and with different chapters in the States as well as in 27 different countries. This group is called the American Massage Therapist Association or AMTA. The association was found in 1943. It is the only national non-profit association to cater to the field of massage therapy.

The goal of the American Massage Therapist Association is to make massage therapy a part of one’s regimen or routine when maintaining good health. The group continuously finds applicable advancements of their members in ethics, standards, education, and professionalism. The AMTA helps massage therapists develop their skills in the art of massage therapy.

In the 52 chapters of AMTA, additional continuing education is provided to their members by workshops and conferences in regional and local levels. Due to the huge benefits the members get from the association, demonstration of ability through testing and educational attainment is done to be a certified member of AMTA. With the qualifications each member has to achieve, people can be assured that they can locate a professional therapy to handle their physical needs for the services they offer.

With clients as their top priority, AMTA is no doubt producing the best massage therapists globally. The association of AMTA is led by the Board of Directors, members of which have come up with a declaration of codes for the members to follow. These ethical codes are for the benefit of the massage therapy members and clients. Moreover, with the ethical code AMTA, members have agreed to follow the vision of the association as well as its goals and long term mission or objectives.

Now with the American Massage Therapist Association around, therapeutic massage wellness for every one is in better hands!
