This group is called the American Massage Therapist Association or AMTA. The association was found in 1943. It is the only national non-profit association to cater to the field of massage therapy.
The goal of the American Massage Therapist Association is to make massage therapy a part of one’s regimen or routine when maintaining good health. The group continuously finds applicable advancements of their members in ethics, standards, education, and professionalism. The AMTA helps massage therapists develop their skills in the art of massage therapy.
In the 52 chapters of AMTA, additional continuing education is provided to their members by workshops and conferences in regional and local levels. Due to the huge benefits the members get from the association, demonstration of ability through testing and educational attainment is done to be a certified member of AMTA.
