Marshmallow is an herb, and it can be used in treatment for esophagitis by consuming its root extract. You can prepare the extract by boiling the roots in water, allowing it to cool. Consume it three times a day for best results.
  • Another effective remedy to relieve esophagitis is to consume an extract made of slippery elm bark. Slippery elm is native to North America and is botanically referred to as Ulmus rubra muhl. The bark of the plant is supposed to contain mucilage, which would lubricate the lining of the esophagus, thereby relieving esophagitis and other gastrointestinal problems.
  • Another remedy that is widely used as an effective treatment for esophagitis is the intake of raw ginger. You can peel a piece of ginger and keep it in the mouth for 30 minutes. This will help relieve inflammation in the digestive tract.

If you are wondering what Hypochondria is, you need to know that it is a mental condition. In this condition people believe themselves to have, or to be prone to, a serious disease or health condition. A Hypochondriac is a person suffering from Hypochondria. Hypochondria is also known as hypochondriasis, health anxiety or health phobia. A hypochondriac would be worried about the simplest of physical symptoms. They may be worried in general or they may focus on a particular symptom, or particular disease. Also, people who have suffered form an organic disease may be prone to hypochondria. Hypochondria may be caused in adults due to a strong need to be looked after or due to self-centeredness as well. In children however, the cause of hypochondria may simply be the effect of the physical symptoms of their family members as children tend to mimic others.

Hypochondriac symptoms can be quite diverse. Patients may complain of many different ailments and problems or focus on any one single issue. The patient is usually able to describe the hypochondriac pain and symptom in minute detail. However, such symptoms are generally not considered to be abnormal or associated with any disease. People suffering from hypochondria would generally suffer show signs like anger, frustration, anxiety and depression. They would also focus abnormally on regular day to day bodily sensations and functions. Hypochondriacs also visit their physicians very frequently; despite being assured that they are healthy. They are also in a state of denial and they are unable to accept the idea that their symptoms could be a result of stress and anxiety. Treatment for Acid Reflux During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes many drastic changes. Nearly half of the moms in the United States have experienced acid reflux during their pregnancy. Even if a woman has no prior history of acid reflux, she is likely to experience it during her pregnancy. Acid reflux is not severe in the first trimester but during the second and third trimesters, it is usually considered to worsen and become increasingly painful. Although the pain can be very severe and frustrating, acid reflux during pregnancy is usually quite harmless. Unfortunately, it is quite common too. Acid reflux is also an early sign of pregnancy. The causes of acid reflux are as follows:

  • A hormone known as progesterone is produced by the placenta during pregnancy. This hormone causes the Lower Esophageal Sphincter to relax. This in turn, allows the acid from the stomach to enter in to the esophagus and cause acid reflux and nausea.
  • The same hormone, progesterone, will also cause a slowing down of peristalses, which are the involuntary contractions of the body muscles which allow the food to be transported through the digestive system. This makes it difficult to digest food and causes acid reflux at night.
  • During pregnancy, the hormones of the mom-to-be are continually changing. Due to this, the digestive system’s functioning is affected and some foods may not be digested as before or even tolerated at all. Some of your favorite foods may become inedible for you during pregnancy.
  • As the baby grows, your abdomen may start to get cramped. Due to this cramping, the acid in your stomach could get pushed back up the esophagus.
  • Furthermore, as the baby grows, the mother’s stomach may become too big for her to able to sleep comfortably on her back. Due to this, the mother tends to sleep on her side and this increases the chance of acid reflux.

  1. A great natural remedy for acid reflux is to elevate the head of your bed. Taking the help of gravity to control acid reflux is quite affective. When we lie down flat, the acids in our stomach can flow back into the esophagus. Sleeping with your head elevated will prevent many acid reflux episodes and even if they do occur, they are not as severe or as long lasting as when you are lying down flat.
  2. It is important that you avoid certain foods. The esophageal sphincter pressure is lowered by some foods and it is best to avoid them when trying to cure an acid reflux. Chocolate, Caffeine and peppermint should be avoided as far as possible.
  3. Chewing gum is a highly effective acid reflux cure. While chewing gum, the saliva production increases considerably. Frequently swallowing the saliva helps to flush the esophagus and wash down the acid which has refluxed in the esophagus. It is a good habit to chew a sugar-free gum for about half an hour after a meal to reduce the symptoms of acid reflux.
  4. Instead of having large and irregular meals, have smaller meals at regular intervals throughout the day. The smaller meals will allow the stomach to be emptied more quickly, thereby reducing the risk of experiencing acid reflux symptoms.

Brown Spotting after Period Ends

Brown spotting after periods is an indication of the last period’s blood that may still be present in the cervix and, due to some irritation or through sexual intercourse; it may get washed out with other normal secretions. It’s normally quite harmless to experience some brown spotting after your period ends. Sometimes, pregnant ladies may experience spotting during the earlier stages of their pregnancy. Spotting in early pregnancy does not indicate any harm to the baby and is nothing to worry about. Unless there is any severe pain or cramping the issue is considered to be absolutely normal. Bleeding after periods may occurs sometime after the brown discharge is washed out. Fresh new blood may be discharged after the periods are over along with some brown discharge.
