Ingrown toe nail can be due to many reasons like stumping your foot on a stone or wall, dropping a heavy object while working or improper nail hygiene or nail cutting.
To remove the extra/dead skin, which would be inhibiting the nail to grow out, soften the nail by soaking your foot in lukewarm water. Then carefully clean it with the help of a nail filer and wipe it.
Always keep the toe and nails well moisturized. Never cut the nails too short and always cut the nails straight.
To give the toe some spaces to breathe avoid pointed or tight shoes or socks that press your toe nail.
On the other hand wear sandals that are open from the fingers of your toe.
