Cures for arthritis

There are several types of arthritis, all essentially medical conditions in which the joints are damaged. To some extent, treatment of your condition will depend on what kind of arthritis you have. If you suffer from inflammatory arthritis, the primary treatment is meant to address the inflammation, while some lifestyle changes can help keep the condition under control.

If arthritis is due to injury or stress to joints, dieting is the main requirement, along with exercise. In addition, some basic treatments such as massages help ease the pain.

The main change you need to make to your diet is to cut down on saturated fat and consume more unsaturated fat.

Sticking to a vegetarian diet as far as possible is a good way to do this. In addition, you should try adding fish to your diet, in particular salmon, herring, and sardine. Better still, get a daily quota of flaxseed, which has even more omega 3 fatty acids than fish, and is generally a healthy food in many other ways. Apart from directly helping your joints, such a diet will help you cut down weight, as a result of which your joints will be less strained. Similarly, regular exercise will keep your joints more healthy, and simultaneously help you lose weight and stay fit.
