Treatment for abscess tooth

Home remedies in this case are basically for relief from the pain, and not to treat the tooth abscess itself, so do be sure to visit your dentist as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, you can try applying clove oil to the tooth and to the gum area around the infected tooth. You can use a piece of cotton to do this.

Dip the cotton in clove oil and then apply the oil, or just place the cotton firmly on the affected tooth. Do not do this too many times in a single day or use too much clove oil, because clove oil can be harmful in large quantities, itself causing pain and damage. If you prefer, you can use a clove instead, placing it on the affected tooth.

You can also apply tea tree oil to your tooth and gum, or use it in a home made mouth wash solution. Put half a teaspoon of tea tree oil in a glass of water, and gargle with this solution two or three times a day.

As mentioned before, visit your dentist as soon as possible. An tooth abscess can steadily worsen if left untreated, and in the long term can have much more serious implications than the loss of the tooth itself.
