Scabies treatment Scabies is a skin infection by parasites that causes severe itching and in some cases, skin rash. Sometimes, a scabies infection can also result in a secondary skin infection, particularly if the skin is broken due to excessive scratching. Therefore, one of the important precautions to take with scabies is to avoid, or at least limit, scratching.
If you suspect that you have scabies, it is best to visit your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. There are a few home remedies you can try, but they are not always effective, and it is best to solve the problem as quickly as possible, instead of going through a period of trial and error. Scabies is caused by a mite that burrows into the skin and lays eggs, which then hatch and repeat the cycle.
Treatment therefore essentially consists of insecticides that kill the mites without being harmful to humans. If you want to try a home remedy, you can try applying a solution of vinegar and water on the affected areas, or even on your entire body. If this does not work, you should move on to standard medical treatment directly.
Meanwhile, wash all clothes, including bedclothes and towels, to avoid reinfection. Anyone you live with or have close contact with should also be treated for scabies.
