Are piles related with std

Piles is in no way related to STDs. STD is the full form of "sexually transmitted disease" - and covers any disease that can be transmitted through any kind of sexual contact. Piles however is not transmitted sexually, and is in fact not infectious at all. Also known as hemorrhoids, piles is basically a condition in which excessive pressure on the anus and rectum, usually due to constipation and straining during excretion, causes the tissues and veins in this area to swell up. The symptoms of piles include itching and burning of the anus, pain during excretion, discharge of mucus, and mild bleeding. In some severe cases bleeding may be profuse, while in others the hemorrhoids may be pushed outside the anus.

Mild cases of hemorrhoids can usually be handled without medical treatment. A few general precautions need to be taken, possibly along with some dietary changes. Ensure that you drink enough water and eat enough fruits and vegetables. Fluids and dietary fiber contribute greatly to normal stools, and this can prevent straining, which puts excessive pressure on the anus, causing hemorrhoids and aggravating existing ones. However, if you are not sure whether you are suffering from piles, or if your condition is particularly painful, you should visit a doctor.
