Remedies for patches on the body The best treatment for skin that is dry and has become dark is to keep it as hydrated as possible. You must have lukewarm baths and moisturize your skin immediately afterwards, without completely drying your body. If you do not have help in applying moisturizer on your back, you can rub some on a tiled wall and then rub your back against it.
Avoid using store-bought moisturizers, opting for olive or almond oil or clarified butter. The latter leaves a smell, so you might want to use it when you are not going out of the house. In order to lighten the colour of the patches on your skin, you can make a mix of a few drops of lime juice and oil and apply that to your patches. The lime juice will bleach the area naturally and the oil will refrain from losing moisture. To reduce the darkness, you must also exfoliate your skin. Make a natural exfoliating lotion with dried and powdered orange peels mixed into enough milk cream to give it a paste like consistency and rub this in circular motions over damp skin. You can also make a loofah with oatmeal and sugar crystals tied in a handkerchief and use this for scrubbing as opposed to soap, which can actually irritate dry skin further. Aloe vera gel will also help remove dead skin and alleviate both dryness as well as darkness.
