Low blood pressure remedies

Giddiness is the most common symptom of hypotension, the condition in which blood pressure is abnormally low. Hypotension can usually be connected quite clearly to a specific cause or several specific causes, so you should try to find out, with the help of your doctor, what is causing the condition in your case.

Causes of low blood pressure include heart arrhythmias, sepsis, and brain or spinal injuries.

In most cases however, the main cause of hypotension is medications prescribed for other conditions. If you suspect that this is the case with you, ask your doctor about your prescriptions and whether there is a need to change them.

Low blood pressure and the accompanying symptoms are usually simply the result of reduced blood volume.

Although this can sometimes be because of blood loss or a hemorrhage, it is most commonly due to insufficient fluid and food intake, and, as mentioned before, due to medications that may interfere with the body's natural mechanism for regulating blood pressure when you suddenly stand up or sit down. Make sure that you drink enough water through the day, and eat small, regular meals. In addition, take your time when getting up. If you have been lying down, first sit up for a minute or two, stretch, and then get up.

The condition is rarely serious, so there is nothing for you to worry about, but do visit your doctor for regular check ups.
