Dryness, loss of moisture, frequent licking of lips, tenderness of lips, bleeding are some of the symptoms of chapped lips. Dehydration, more exposure to wind, sun, allergy of cosmetic products, deficiency of vitamin A,B & C, smoking are some of the causes of chapped lips. Before trying for home remedies, check the reason for your chapped lips.

Home remedies for chapped lips –

Apply regularly Vaseline, lip balm to keep lips soft.
Do not allow the lips to get licked. The natural oil is taken away from the lips if you lick them often.
Applying cucumber on lips helps.
Applying lemon juice on lips also helps.
Apply vitamin E oil on lips at the bedtime.
Drinking plenty of water is very beneficial.
Aloe vera gel is helpful. Apply it on your lips.
Margosa leaves juice/extract is also beneficial. Apply it on your lips.
Do not peel the lip skin. It will cause more trouble.
Apply butter or clarified butter on your lips at bedtime.
Do not use lipsticks which dry your lips, unless you are using lipstick with moisturizer.
