Pink eye also known as conjunctivitis. conjunctivitis occurs due to excess heat in the body. It is a contagious disease.
There are many home remedies for pink eye/conjunctivitis –
- Cup of Indian gooseberry juice with 2 teaspoon of honey can be taken for relief.
- Wash eyes with water in which dried coriander seeds have been soaked it will provide immediate relief and offer a cooling effect.
- Add fresh fruit juices in your diet.
Avoid banana. - Drink carrot and spinach juice.
- Raw parsley juice mixed in carrot juice is also good.
- Soak cotton in cow’s milk. Sprinkle potash alum on the cotton. Put it on eyes. It’s a fast remedy.
- Soak jaggery in water overnight. Strain it in the morning. Take most of the juice from soaked jaggery. Drink water.
- Prepare juice of green coriander. Strain it with a thin cloth. Put 2 drops in eyes.
- Make a paste of Indian barberry leaves (Barberris aristata) butter and alum. Apply the paste on the eyelids. Good for conjunctivitis.
- Using warm water compression for 10 minutes at a time helps.
- Mix aloe vera gel in water. Soak cotton in the solution. Put it on your eyes.
