Remedies for vaginal infection In order to get rid of the “fishy smell”, which could also mean a mild infection of sorts, you must make certain basic hygiene habits a part of your daily lifestyle. This is the best and most long-term solution available. Switch over to pure cotton panties.
Stop using synthetic ones completely and throw away any you might own. Always wash your panties after each use, even if you have worn them for just an hour. Wash them with hot water and also make it a point to iron them after they dry. Try to change your panties at least four times a day. These methods should ensure basic cleanliness. Wear loose lower body clothing at all times. Avoid tight pants or skirts that keep your thighs close together and stuck all the time. You need to allow your body to air out.
An excellent remedy to get rid of the fishy smell is to apply cool yogurt to your vaginal area. The live bacteria present in the yogurt will clear up your infection. Just after your period, wash your genitals with vinegar every night before going to bed for at least a week. Wash your vagina, moving from front to back, with a mixture of one part vinegar to 12 parts of warm water. These simple remedies should help in getting rid of the infection as well as the smell.
