Advice on change in tooth color

I have grey specks on my front teeth - what causes this? I took high doses of Iron for about 3 months, Could this be the cause? Will it go away?

If you were taking the iron supplement in liquid form then I would say yes, chances are that it will be due to the supplement; and yes, it will resolve with time.  Using toothpaste that has baking soda as an ingredient will also assist in removing these stains and you can also use medical hydrogen peroxide at a three percent concentration to assist in stain removal.
 
If you plan on taking a liquid iron supplement in future, make sure that you use a straw to drink it with and combine the supplement in some slightly acidic juice, like orange juice to increase the absorption of iron in the gut.


Avoid taking iron in combination with dairy foods or tea and coffee, they will reduce iron absorption; as will Calcium and antacid medications. Rinse your mouth out immediately after taking this supplement and brush teeth regularly.  Don’t forget that you can also get iron from parsley, English spinach and lean red meat.
