White spots may occur on the skin due to a fungal infection. This can be treated with home remedies, but it is better to see a dermatologist so that the exact cause can be determined. Home care for a fungal infection includes the following measures;
- You should firstly wash the area with water twice a day.
You can also use a mild soap. Once you finish cleansing, pat the area dry because fungal infections may worsen due to moisture.
- You can also wash your arm with apple cider vinegar and water twice a day.
- White spots on the skin can be removed with regular exfoliation. This helps to remove the dead cells from the skin’s surface and helps the pores to breathe. You can naturally exfoliate your skin with a mixture of turmeric powder, sandalwood and honey. Apply this to the arm and cleanse after fifteen minutes. This will help to prevent further occurrence of white spots.
- Rubbing a small piece of raw ginger on the skin may also help to get rid of white spots. Do this for five minutes each time, twice a day. This will improve blood flow and enable the spots to disappear within a few days.
- Tea tree oil is highly beneficial in treating skin fungus. Add five parts of olive oil to two parts of tea tree oil and apply to the affected area.
- Apply yogurt to the affected area on the skin. Yogurt contains live bacteria which help to fight and destroy fungal infection.
