Scars advice It is not always possible to remove a scar completely. Scar removal depends on factors such as the size, age and severity of the scar. You can, however, lighten it considerably. Lemon juice is used to lighten exceptionally dark scars. Clean the scar thoroughly with just water. Rub lemon juice over the scar and leave it on for ten minutes. Wash with water. Do not apply soap.
Remember to always apply a sun screen while going out, since lemon juice has the tendency to make your skin more prone to tanning. You can also crush a whole onion and apply the fresh juice to your scar. Although this procedure will take a long time, it will work very well towards lightening your scars. Aloe Vera gel is also highly effective in fading away scars. Cucumber juice also helps tremendously. A paste of sandalwood and rose water helps fade scars. Use baking soda to exfoliate your skin. Simply mix it with water to form a thick paste and rub it in circular motions all over your skin. This will help in reducing the darkness of your scars.
Silicone is available in gel or sheet form, and is very effective in lightening, and in some cases, even flattening scars. Again, this will require prolonged usage before you can see results.
