Weight loss with home remedies

How to reduce weight by taking home remedies
( 3 Oct 2007)

Some people tend to put on more weight than others while on the other hand, there are individuals that do not put on a gram of weight irrespective of how much they eat. Excessive weight gain is caused by improper eating habits and the lack of exercise. Being overweight at times can be harmful to health, as the extra weight tends to put added pressure on the heart, liver, kidneys, knees, joints and ankles.

Being extremely overweight is a condition termed as obesity. The condition of being overweight is basically an increase in the overall weight of the body, including a few essential tissues while obesity is used to refer to only an excess in fat tissue. Hence there is a difference between the two conditions. Excessive weight gain could be accounted for by the following factors; overeating, sedentary lifestyle, genetics or hereditary reasons, sluggish basal metabolism, hormonal imbalance and thyroid gland disorder.

This problem however can be easily overcome with the help of some simple home remedies. Apple cider vinegar is a very good natural remedy to loose weight. It is believed to increase one’s metabolism and thus helps in burning calories. Add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to water (16 oz). This mixture should be sipped on though out the day and should be had at one go. Mix together quarter teaspoon of black pepper (powdered), 3 teaspoons of lime juice, a teaspoon of honey and one cup of water. This should be had on a daily basis for 2-3 months. It will help in losing a large amount of weight. Another very effective remedy would be to mix a teaspoon each, of lime juice and honey to a glass of warm water. This should be had every morning before breakfast in order to lose weight.

Switch to fat free foods. Vegetables and fresh fruits would be a good dietary option. Green salads that contain tomatoes and mint leaves help in losing weight. Avoid foods that have high levels of carbohydrates such as potatoes and rice. Fruits such as pineapple, papaya and apple will also be good for you. Vegetable juices, particularly carrot and cabbage will also help in losing excess weight. Avoid high fat dairy products, red meats, sweets, candy and chocolates. Drink a large amount of water as it will help in the proper functioning of your body. Drinking lukewarm water post lunch will help in digestion. Try and stay active by exercise regularly.

Weight loss home remedy

Weight loss is a sensitive issue, which cannot be generalised. Information regarding age, gender, physical activity and diet pattern is essential. I shall list down some general guidelines to lose weight. Good diet with regular exercise and proper lifestyle helps. Good diet includes a high fibre diet with adequate amount of fresh fruits and vegetables. Reduce the intake of fatty foods, sweets, chocolates and ice creams. Carbonated beverages, especially along with high calorie foods, such as pizzas, contribute to weight gain. The former provides ‘empty calories’, contributing to calories. No nutrients are provided by them. Limit the intake of salty foods and processed foods, as the salt in them results in water retention, thereby increasing weight.  Regular exercise, such as walking or jogging is helpful in weight reduction. Abdomen crunches, dumb bells and push ups are helpful. Lifestyle modification involves avoidance of smoking, drinking and avoidance of junk foods. Adherence to meal timings is important. Reduce the quantity of meal and starchy foods and increase fibre in the diet. More tips and information on weight loss is available.
