Information on constipation
Infrequent passage of stools or passage of hard stools with associated pain is referred to as constipation. Lubricants, such as mineral oil help in releasing stools within 8 hours of consumption. Stools are moistened by stool softeners, thereby preventing dehydration.
Diversified causes contribute to constipation. Easily digestible foods are preferred. Freshly cooked foods and fibre rich foods are helpful.
Aloe gel (one teaspoon) is effective against constipation. Supplements of vitamins fail to cause constipation. Insufficient information regarding the duration of intake and the type of protein powder is available. Travel, pregnancy, laxative abuse, dehydration, medications and colorectal problems are some of the causes of constipation. Whole grain cereals, beans, fresh fruits, vegetables and green leaves are recommended. Bananas are good for constipation, in addition to other fruits. Bael fruit is an excellent toner of the rectal muscles. A cup of coffee is helpful. Supplements of potassium aid in strengthening of the colon muscles. Prunes are beneficial in treating constipation. Laxatives are taken under the guidance of a physician. Visit a physician or a gastroenterologist for further guidance, if the problem continues.
