Natural remedies for diaper rash Diaper rash is caused by improper washing of the child's clothes. Leaving the child with a soiled diaper for a long time also results in rashes. Commercially available creams are also effective. A paste of corn starch and petroleum jelly helps. Avoid rubber pants with diaper. Washing the affected area with cold water and blow drying is an effective method. Dry roast flour on a pan and coat the base of the child. Topical application of olive oil while changing diapers is an easy method of preventing diapers. A small bowl of water with a teaspoon of vinegar is an effective wash. Washing the bowels after every passage of stool is important. Leave the baby naked, especially while changing diapers is effective. Avoid foods that result in loose bowels. Essential oils, such as lavender, peppermint or sandalwood are applied with carrier oil, namely almond oil. Changing diapers at regular intervals also helps. Diaper wipes are replaced by plain water. Irritating soaps and moisture trapping clothes are not used. Rinse the cloth diapers and other baby's clothes twice or thrice to remove the excess detergents. Talcum powder is avoided to prevent inhalation pneumonia.
