Boils Information 

Skin inflammation with pus or blood, causing itching sensation is referred to as a boil. They appear as red nodules, accompanied by irritation. Fever is also a commonly seen.


Staphylococccus and toxic conditions in the blood give rise to boils. The most common contributing factors are improper nutrition, poor hygiene, diabetes, exposure to harsh chemicals and improper immunity levels. Avoid popping the boil, as they are contagious. Topical application of cumin seed paste on the boils is effective. A pinch of turmeric powder to a teaspoon of milk cream and half a teaspoon of vinegar is helpful in curbing boils filled with blood. Drinking a cup of bitter gourd juice with a teaspoon of lime juice, in an empty stomach proves beneficial. Pus from boils is removed by rubbing garlic or onion juice. Wash the affected area with anti bacterial soap. Placing a warm compress over the boil helps in relieving pain. Diagnostic tests are required, in case of severe infection. Deeper boils are covered with gauze, to enable easy drainage. Wash all the clothes in contact with the boil, such as towel, bed linen, kerchiefs and so on. Avoid leaving the child bare footed. The kind of infection and its severity is determined by diagnosing the same. Visit a dermatologist for further guidance.
