Natural cure for razor burns

  • Shave in the direction of your hair growth and if the razor bump is giving you too much trouble then avoid shaving for sometime. Let your hair grow naturally and then continue shaving. In the meantime, wash your bump with an antibacterial soap and warm water to decrease the inflammation.

  • Always shave frequently but lightly. Lubricate your hair growth sufficiently with water, apply a shaving foam or soap to it and lather properly and then shave.
  • Avoid electric shavers as they disrupt the direction of the hair growth and they grow in a haphazard manner.

  • Try shaving always in the same direction everyday.
  • Use a new razor blade for shaving. A sharp and blunt one might increase your problem. Discard the old one when it becomes dull rather than shaving too hard with it.
  • Avoid wearing shirts that have stiff collars as they will rub against your skin and aggravate the problem.
  • After your bump has been cured exfoliate your skin with a sugar scrub or with a gentle cleanser in which baking soda has been mixed to remove flakes and make the skin smooth.
  • Dissolve an aspirin tablet in water and add some glycerin to it. Apply this solution to the bump several times a day.
