The best way to lose weight is to follow a dual method, which is aimed at eating healthy and exercising. Calories that are not burnt off by the body lead to formation of fat which accumulates in various parts of the body. Regulating calorie intake is thus essential.
Food labels must be examined properly to determine the calorie content. Opt for foods that have a lower calorie count to prevent fat accumulation. Overeating can be prevented by eating every three hours. Hunger causes you to eat more than usual, and eating regularly will help to keep hunger at bay. Snack healthy by eating foods such as apples or whole wheat crackers. Focus on eating foods that are low in calories and nutritious. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are nourishing for the body and also help to reduce weight. These foods are rich in fiber and as such make you feel full for a longer period of time. This prevents overeating, thereby reducing the chances of weight gain. Skipping meals is not a good idea, as this could starve the body of necessary nutrients and also lead you to feel hungrier, thereby encouraging overeating. Drinking plenty of water is also beneficial at it prevents bloating. Consume water instead of drinking sugary drinks. Good hydration promotes health and well being.
Exercise is vital for losing excess weight and toning the body. Regular exercise must be done for maximum benefit. You can begin with brisk walking or jogging. Then increase this to about half an hour of exercise daily. Exercise also helps to increase your metabolism, making you burn off excess calories quickly. Regulate meal servings so that you don't succumb to overeating. Keeping a note of calorie intake by writing it down regularly will also give you a clearer idea of your dietary habits. As such you can make the necessary changes to maximize excess weight reduction.
Here are some home remedies that can aid the process of excess weight reduction. Lime juice and honey added to water is beneficial in treating obesity. A glass of honey water and lime juice can be taken at regular intervals during the day. Jujube leaves can be soaked overnight and taken in the morning as an effective remedy to lose excess weight. Cabbage is known to be helpful in treating obesity as it contains tartaric acid which restricts sugars and carbohydrates from turning into fats. Finger millet is also good for reducing weight as it takes quite a while to get digested and therefore delays hunger pangs. This will prevent bingeing and overeating.

Health advice for weight loss
- Eat 2 ripe tomatoes for your breakfast and do not eat anything else for some time. Then after a couple of hours have Alfalfa sprouts or any other sprout. Sip a glass of buttermilk with your meals and whenever you feel hunger pangs or acid reflux.
- Eat 6 frequent and light meals rather than 3 large ones. Eat a little less than you want to.
- Have your dinner 2 hours prior to sleeping.
- Have some soups, almonds, raw vegetable salads or fruits when you want to snack. Never indulge in emotional eating.
- Avoid white rice, white flour, white sugar, oily and fried foods, processed foods, junk foods, artificial sweeteners, butter, clarified butter and other fatty foods. Have cereals, skim milk, fruits, plenty of water, fruit juices, wheat grains and salads. Prepare your foods in less oil and add less salt to them.
- Soak a handful of the leaves of Indian plum or jujube in water for the night. Strain the liquid in the morning and drink it on an empty stomach for about a month.
- In 1 cup of water, add 3 tsp of lime juice and ½ tsp of pepper powder and honey. Drink it regularly for a period of around 3 to 4 months.
