There are many effective home remedies for heartburn. Read on the following natural remedies for heartburn:
- The most popular remedy is fennel. You can try drinking fennel tea or consume herbal products that include fennel oil.
- Another essential herb for curing heartburn is peppermint. Peppermint tea or peppermint oil is effective for treating heartburn. Other mint oils are also beneficial for curing heartburn.
- Avoid caffeinated tea because these beverages may aggravate the condition.
- Ginger or gingerroot is also useful for curing heartburn. Gingerroot is a common ingredient found in many herbal products formulated for heartburn.
- You can even try rhubarb. Chewing a chilled chunk of rhubarb is effective for relieving heartburn. It helps in increasing the flow of saliva and neutralizing the stomach acid. Neutralizing or deactivating the stomach acid greatly helps in treating heartburn because stomach acid is the major cause of heartburn.
- Slippery elm can also be used effectively for the purpose but should be avoided by pregnant and lactating mothers.
