Razor bumps are red rashes that occur on the skin of men and the bikini area of women due to improper shaving. These red rashes are very annoying and you are jeopardizing your social life. Sometimes these rashes can be very painful with a burning sensation.
So, it's good to treat these rashes immediately.
Here I have some good home remedies for razor bumps:
- Avoid shaving for next few days.
- Topical application of apple cider vinegar on the razor bump affected area can be beneficial in curing bumps.
- Prepare a mixture of mashed strawberries and add 1 tsp of sour cream. Apply this mixture on the razor bumps and wash off after few minutes. This will help you reduce the burning sensation.
- Aloe Vera gel is also an effective remedy for treating razor burns.
- Prepare a face mask using 2 uncoated aspirin, water, aloe vera and honey. Place this mask on your face and rub off gently. This will help reduce the burning sensation and will result in faster recovery. Aspirin derived from salicylic acid is a beta hydroxyl acid that is used in various skin care cosmetics for skin exfoliation. Many ointments formulated for razor bumps also contain this acid. Honey and aloe vera works as moisturizers to give a cooling and smoothening effect to the skin.
- You can also try a paste of aspirin, water and glycerin. Apply this paste on the affected area using a cotton ball.
