Treatment for short sight
Myopia is a defect of the eyes which doesn't allow you to see anything – objects or people – that is at a distance from you. A myopic person would have no trouble seeing things that are close to him. In recent years, studies have shown that more and more children are becoming myopic and that the age of onset is becoming lower and lower.
Nothing is known about how one can prevent myopia or ensure it does not become any worse and this is because there is a lot of uncertainty about why myopia occurs. However, it seems quite obvious that the increased exposure to computers and television is instrumental in causing myopia. Hence, the first step to taking care of your child's myopia is to ensure that she does not watch too much TV or use the computer for extended periods of time.
You should also take care to ensure that she does not strain her eyes by reading very small type for too long. Make your child exercise her eyes by taking a break while reading. Focusing on distant things can help. Studies have shown that children may also develop myopia due to a deficient diet. Your child should consume appropriate quantities of fat, protein, iron, and vitamin B12 and Vitamin C.
