Natural remedies for teeth whitening
Apart from methods involving basic hygiene and maintenance, most tooth whitening procedures (including home remedies) are at best rather useless, and at worst, harmful, at temporarily if not permanently. The bright, pure white teeth that most people aim for or at least covet are an unrealistic ideal. It is natural for teeth to become darker with age. A child's teeth are almost always whiter than an adult's. There are some substances that we consume, such as tobacco, tea, and coffee, that actually stain teeth, but even without these substances teeth do not natural remain white.
Both when performed by a dentist and by using the strips that you mention, tooth whitening involves use of an oxidising or bleaching agent. This obviously involves applying harsh chemicals on a sensitive part of the body, and therefore has its risks — increased sensitivity of the teeth and gums, burns to the gums and mouth, and (a relatively minor problem) teeth that end up looking too white to be real.
Your best approach would be to brush and floss regularly. If you want to try a home remedy, try using a little baking soda mixed with rose water or vinegar, or plain water. In addition, try to limit your consumption of tea, coffee, and tobacco.
