Remedies for sty

There are endless home remedies that can provide relief from sties. One of the quickest and most effective ones is to get a very large nail, or a large piece of iron, and rub it around the area of the sty. The metal is supposed to help heal the sty and bring down the swelling.


Take a whole clove, and rub it vigorously on a marble surface with a drop of water to make a fine, thick paste. Apply this around the sty. It is said that the heat from the clove will draw out the sty and it will heal over a period of two days if this remedy is tried.


Be careful to avoid getting the paste into your eye, as this may cause serious damage. And do remember to try this remedy after a couple of days of the sty having been around. This way, the entire sty will be out and will be healed, rather than a half sty being healed. You can also apply fresh garlic juice to the outer part of your sty to heal it.

You can also a chilled herbal tea bag for temporary relief from burning. Washing the eyes with a mix of milk and rosewater will also provide relief. You can also apply a paste of turmeric powder and rose water to the external eye area for quick healing.
