In Hindi, celery is called shalari, ajmud, randhuni. Celery originated in Europe and the Mediterranean. It has been cultivated for several hundred years.

Celery seeds, also used in cooking also have their own flavor. Growing celery requires sandy soil. The soil should be nourishes with organic matter and should be moist.
