Health advice on chicken pox
Chicken pox is more of an annoyance than anything serious. No matter how widespread it is, do remember that apart from extreme discomfort, chances are that nothing serious will really happen to the child. The most important thing is to stop the child from scratching the boils, since this will only spread them around further, and they will take that much more time to heal.
There are certain home remedies you can employ to avoid this, which is the biggest problem. A tablespoon of baking soda in bathwater will provide relief, as will bathing with three cups of organic vinegar mixed into bathwater. A paste of cornstarch will also soothe the itching. This will also provide relief from scratching. Fresh aloe vera gel applied on the itchy red dots will also provide cooling relief and help considerably with the healing. A mix of sandalwood and rosewater soothes and stops the itching. Calamine lotion is a strong coolant for the skin and can provide a few hours of relief, which is much desired.
Other than taking care if the itching, it is advisable to drink a lot of fluids to keep the body loose and limber. It is also smarter to feed the child fresh fruits and vegetables, and preferably a vegetarian diet for quicker recovery.
