Natural remedies for colic
An infant with colic usually cries for long periods of time. Usually it is the crying which alerts parents and doctors to the fact that the child is suffering from colic. Children usually appear to be in pain but other than passing wind, show no other symptoms.
Several infants suffer from this and doctors have noticed that despite this they tend to be normal in terms of their intake and growth. So there is no need to worry. However you should also keep in mind the fact that all crying sessions cannot automatically be attributed to colic.
It is better to seek a confirmation from the doctor.
You can first try to make your child comfortable. Try giving your baby a warm water bath since this might soothe him. You can also try carrying your baby since the child may enjoy the comfort your presence brings it. Keep your child happy and distract it by taking it for a walk in a sling or talking or singing to it. Some babies are unable to digest lactose, a kind of proteins. This could cause them discomfort. You should ask your doctor for the best remedy to adopt. Add a spoonful of anise, fennel or cumin to some water. Boil, then cool before giving your baby a spoonful.
