Natural cures for flea bite

If you can see small, red coloured little raised lumps on your body, especially on your ankles and legs, then you do seem to have been bitten by fleas. Fleas don't restrict themselves to biting only animals, they often bite humans too. A flea bite results in a slightly raised lump which can bleed if it is scratched very hard.

What is interesting is only some people do get bitten by fleas, while the rest are ignored and get away with no bites on their body. Since little red lumps are characteristic of other medical conditions, it is advisable to get a doctor's opinion on the matter.

Of course, the first thing to do with a flea bite is to keep your hands away from the affected area.

Don't touch the bites and don't scratch them. Keep the area around the bites clean. If the pain from the bites is bad, then try using an ice pack. Pack as much ice as you can in a plastic bag and place on the affected area.  Use a little baking powder mixed with water to help reduce the pain on the bites. If you got bitten by fleas at home, then you should check give your house a complete cleaning to ensure that there are no more fleas lurking anywhere. Wash all your clothes, even bed clothes in hot water.
