Treatment for ingrown toenail
An ingrown toe nail is the kind of everyday problem that affects people across the world. If you or your child is suffering from this condition you know how very painful it can be, even when it is nothing more serious than a toe nail that has gown into your flesh. Usually people who have convex shaped toe nails are believed to be more likely to have an ingrown nail.
Some people suffer from an ingrown nail when they do not take proper care to cut their nails. Others can blame this condition on bad shoes. Of course, the most important thing is to ensure that you wear comfortable shoes.
And that you learn the best way to cut your nails since a neglected ingrown toe nail could well lead to an infection.
Softening your nails by soaking them in hot water will certainly give you some moments of relief. Try to wedge in a small piece of cotton wool under the edge of your nail, so that the nail can be made to grow away from your flesh. If you can accomplish this you will ensure that the nail grows in the correct direction and stops hurting you. You will have to change the piece of cotton wool regularly. A wet piece of cotton wool against your already inflamed toe can cause even more discomfort.
