Nail fungus remedies Soaking your nails afflicted with fungus for around 20 minutes daily in a concoction of two parts lukewarm water, one part apple cider vinegar and 8 drops of essential lavender oil will surely eliminate the fungus. The vinegar is imperative in restoring the pH balance of the skin and is a useful agent in fighting off the fungal infection while the lavender oil in itself possesses effective antibacterial properties. This solution must be applied daily preferably after a bath.
The vinegar blend must be allowed to dry completely. In place of lavender oil, tree oil may also be used.
Pure tea tree oil may also be used on its own, as an overnight application.
Although the application needs to be continued till the entire nail has grown out as the treatment is slow, the oil certainly possesses potent antibacterial properties.
Another prevailing antimicrobial product as well as an exceptional disinfectant is the extract of grapefruit seeds. A couple of teaspoons of the grapefruit seed extract in a cup of water must be blended and used through a cotton ball to dab it on the affected nails thrice daily.
A few drops of oregano oil dissolved in several drops of olive oil or aloe vera gel is also a brilliant anti-fungal solution. This oil should be applied under the nail and can be done so by using a fine toothbrush.
