For most fish eaters, it is quite common to end up with a fish bone stuck in the throat. A fish bone stuck in the throat can be very uncomfortable, and in rare cases, it may pose a serious health risk. In order to get rid of a fish bone stuck in the throat, the first and foremost step that you need to take is to eat bread, or even rice.
However, keep in mind that you should not chew the bread too much. This works because when you swallow the bread, it pushes the fish bone that is stuck further down your food pipe, thereby taking it out. This is one of the best and most effective remedy for a fish bone stuck in the throat.
If the bread remedy does not work, another fish bone stuck in the throat remedy is gargling with apple cider vinegar. You can also drink this slowly; though you should not drink too much of it. The mild acid present in the vinegar will help in dissolving the bone. You can follow this up with water to flush the throat. If none of the home remedies mentioned above work, you should consult your health care provider for medical help and proper treatment.

Cures for swollen tonsil with white spots?
Swollen tonsils with white spots are also commonly known as tonsils stones. The formation of these white spots on the tonsils takes place as a result of bacteria combining with mucus, digestive enzymes, and broken food particles. This matter gets trapped in the tiny tonsil crypts on the surface of your tonsils. Gradually, it gets hardened and results in swollen tonsils with white spots.
If you happen to experience white patches on tonsils, you should take immediate steps to cure the problem. In addition to the regular medical treatment, which involves antibiotic medicines, you can also safely use any of the following home remedies for the treatment of white spots on tonsils and a sore throat.
- The most popular and commonly used home remedy for any tonsils-related problem is to gargle with warm salt water. This remedy holds equally good for swollen tonsil with white spots. Use this remedy at least 3 to 4 times a day
- Another very effective remedy for swollen tonsils or tonsil stones is gargling with apple cider vinegar mixed in lukewarm water. Doing this three to four times a day will greatly help in dissolving the hardened white deposits as well as give you relief from pain and swelling.
Despite using these home remedies for swollen tonsils, if the problem persists, consult your doctor.

What causes white spots on tonsils?
Tonsils are the most delicate parts of your respiratory and digestive systems. Swollen tonsils with white spots can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. In acute cases, it may result in prolonged fever. Though white spots on tonsils may occur to people of any age, children are more prone to get affected because of their suppressed immune systems.
In order to better understand the causes of tonsils with white spots, you need to know more about the tonsils present in your throat. On the surface of your tonsils, there are tiny pockets referred to as tonsil crypts. These tonsil crypts are made of very soft tissues. The saliva in your mouth is constantly mixed with the tonsil crypts. While eating, the digestive enzymes in the saliva break the carbohydrates present in the food. The broken carbohydrate, mucus, food particles and bacteria combine up and get trapped in the crypts. Initially, this trapped material appears as small patches on tonsils. Gradually, this material gets hardened and results in swollen tonsils with white spots. The white spots are more commonly referred to as tonsil stones. The best thing to avoid occurrence of white spots on your tonsils is to gargle after every meal so that the deposition does not take place.
