Remedies for tooth infection
A tooth infection can be caused by a number of reasons but the most common reason is the development of cavities in the teeth, gum problems and teeth that might have gotten impacted. It is also possible that an abscess may also have formed around your tooth. An abscess is a gathering of pus because of an infection that occurs at the centre of a tooth.
If you feel that your mouth is very swollen up and that the pain is very severe, it might be the symptoms of an abscess and you must then ensure that you see a dentist at once.
To relieve the pain, you can keep a clove over your tooth and allow its juices to seep into your tooth to soothe you. You can also either chew the clove or your can apply clove oil to the infected tooth.
Ensure that you do salt-water gargles to swirl water around the affected tooth and provide some relief from the pain. Applying a few drops of vanilla essence or oregano oil can also give you some pain relief but you must check with your doctor before you use these remedies. In addition, you can make a compress from active charcoal powder that you would get in a store. Make a paste of sufficient water and two teaspoons of charcoal powder and apply it to a piece of gauze or cotton. You should then place this on your paining tooth and bite down hard on it for 10 seconds.
