Treatment for uti infection

A urinary tract infection (UTI) occurs when bacteria infects the urinary tract. These bacteria begin in the urinary bladder or the kidneys and then multiply in your urine and cause a very uncomfortable UTI. The typical symptoms of a bladder UTI are an almost incessant need to urinate despite not being able to actually urinate, a burning sensation while passing urine, or blood in the urine.

With kidney infections, the typical symptoms include vomiting, back and abdominal pain, and most of the symptoms of a bladder infection. Bladder infections are usually less serious and easily treatable. If the infection is in your kidneys then it might be indicative of a more serious problem and you should consult your doctor at once for more information.

To treat a UTI at home, you can start by drinking a lot of water because this will help to flush out your urinary tract and remove the bacteria and pus, if any. Avoid foods with a high sugar content and alcohol because these substances might support the bacteria causing the infection. If you take Vitamin C in the night, the acid level of the urine becomes higher which in turn slows down the growth of the bacteria in your system. Drink some cranberry juice everyday because recent research also indicates that cranberry juice also helps prevent and control UTIs by preventing the bacteria that cause it.
