my husband and i have been trying to have a baby for over three months and still nothing...how can i improve my chances of concieving??

A number of couples today have trouble conceiving – in fact, a study shows that at least 25% of the couples who are planning a baby have trouble getting pregnant. This might be due to some problems in the woman or some problems in the man. A number of reasons that couples have difficulty conceiving are unexplained or are a combination of problems that involve both partners.

If you have been engaging in regular and unprotected sex for more than a year without conceiving, consult your doctor. Also, if you are over 35 and have been having regular and unprotected sex for six months and have not conceived, you should consult your doctor. With technological advances today, almost 90% of the people with infertility problems can be successfully become parents.

There are a number of ways in which you can increase the chances of becoming pregnant. The most important and simplest way is to take care of your body and treat it properly. For example, if you are regular smoking, are over or under weight or consume too much alcohol and caffeine, you may have trouble conceiving. Any history of sexually-transmitted and other ailments diseases can lower your chances of having a baby. You should also monitor your blood pressure carefully and must consult their OB/GYN if you suffer from hypertension.

In addition, eating healthy is essential for a successful pregnancy. Many people are unaware that a correct diet while attempting to conceive can help to correct hormone imbalances which inhibit conception. You should also avoid foods and beverages that are known to decrease fertility. Ensure that your diet contains required quantities of folic acid, selenium, zinc, good fatty acids. Eat vitamin supplements that contain the nutrients missing in your own diet to ensure that you have the best chance of conceiving. You can also use herbs such as Agnus castus (chaste berry tree) to restore any hormonal imbalance and naturally ovulating. However, do not use this herb if you are on any other treatments like IVF or HRT.
