Home cures for black eye
- Make a pack with crushed ice cubes and apply it to your eyes if there is pain or till the swelling subsides. After this, do hot water compress with a cotton cloth.
- Apply cold wet tea bags to your eye till the swelling and inflammation reduces.
- Take 4 tablets of the homeopathic medicine Arnica at an hour interval of 4 hours. This is good for all kinds of injuries.
- Mix 5 parts melted Vaseline and 1 part cayenne pepper, let it cool and apply it to your eyes once daily.
- Consume vitamin K tablets or alfalfa till the color improves.
- Take a cotton pad, pour witch hazel over it and apply it to your eyes. Lie down for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Eating pineapple or papaya will cure the blackness.
- Eat foods like sweet potatoes, broccoli and mangoes which are rich in vitamin C as it fastens up the healing process. You can also take vitamin C supplements daily.
- The blackness is due to internal bleeding. Do not take aspirin while you have a black eye as it will increase the bleeding, instead have acetaminophen as the pain reliever.
- Avoid blowing your nose as it may infect the eye or cause swelling in the face.
- Take as much rest as you can and try to get at least 8 hours of sleep till everyday.
