Natural treatment for underarm ingrown hair
  • Clean your underarms with a mild soap and warm water. Scrub the area gently to remove dust and sweat from the hair follicles. Wipe it without rubbing and apply corn or talcum powder to it.

  • You can also wash your underarms with Panoxyl bar or Reviva (antibacterial soaps) which can be found at any local drug store.
  • Apply Cortaid around the area of ingrown hair and keep it moisturized to control itching.
  • Apply lavender oil, chamomile, mustard or coconut oil to the area.

  • Gently exfoliate the skin of your underarms to remove the dead cells regularly but avoid this if you already have an infection.
  • You may use a sterilized tweezer to pluck the hair out but be careful not to hurt the skin around it.
  • If you shave your underarms, then make sure to lubricate it properly and then shave in the direction of the hair growth. It is preferable to shave your hair rather than wax them. The skin is sensitive and might bleed or get infected if the hair is pulled severely. Try not to shave or wax for a few days if you are having pain, inflammation or redness in the area around the ingrown hair. It may cause infection that can spread to other parts.
