Acne is a skin problem occurring due to hormonal imbalance which can be observed if you stop taking birth control pills. It can be seen in various parts of the body like the back, face, chest and neck. Home treatment for acne include:-
- Acne lotions can be applied topically.
These lotions are the milder types which contain benzol peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid as their active ingredient. These lotions help in drying up the oil on the skin and can kill bacteria. - Use water based products and avoids the use of greasy or oily cosmetics, sunscreens or hairstyling products.
- Wash acne affected areas with gentle cleansers twice a day. Too much of washing is not advisable as it can irritate the skin. Facial scrubs, astringents and masks can aggravate the occurrence of acne, so these are not recommended.
- Wear loose fitting clothing. Clothes that are tight tend to avoid circulation of air and can hold heat and moisture thus irritating the skin.
- Prepare a tea made with nettles and cleavers tincture. This may be effective for acne.
- After cleaning your face, apply a drop of tree tea oil on the blemishes. This acts as an antiseptic and can heal the blemishes.
- Cleaning the system from within is important. Prepare a juice with one part beet root juice, three parts carrot juice and two parts water.
- Apply apple cider vinegar or lemon juice on the face with the help of cotton ball. A combination of equal amount of lemon juice and rose water can be applied, leave for half an hour and wash thoroughly. This needs to be done for 15-20 days.
- A warm bath of blanch of nettle and rosemary is effective in reducing acne.
- Rub garlic cloves on acne affected areas for several times a day. Wash thoroughly.
