Home cures for leg numbness: home remedy for my daughters leg going numb she is only 22 yrs old w/ 2 children, i think it is a pinched nerve.

  1. Avoid putting pressure on the affected leg. Try to reposition the leg and do not let it remain in one position for a long time. Curl your toes, uncross your legs and fold and unfold it. This is done to relieve the pinched nerve and prevent numbness.
  2. Stretch your legs slowly and flex them periodically.
  3. Regular massages keep the vertebrae aligned so that it does not infringe on a nerve. It also relaxes the muscles and prevents cramps.
  4. To keep the area heated use hot water bottle or compress the area with a hot cloth. Do this for at least half an hour till the numbness reduces.
  5. Also try alternate hot and cold compress. Press hot towel on the leg for sometime and then replace it with an ice pack. Keep doing this for half an hour. Doing this regularly will relieve the pain and slowly cure the pinched nerve.
  6. Eat multivitamins like zinc, folic acid and chromium and store up on minerals. Follow a high nutrient diet and exclude starch from it.
  7. Quit smoking as it reduces the blood flow.
  8. Massage the area with mustard or coconut oil once daily before going to bed. Rosemary oil helps ease the pain faster.
