Treatment for blood under toenail

Will blood under the toenail caused while playing tennis go away on it own? If not, how do I get rid of it?
(20 Sep 2007)

As the injury heals the blood under your toe nail would go away on its own. There might be color changes like you nail color might change to blue, purple or black, but this will also come back to normal as the nail grows back. Monitor the nail and keep it clean and dry.

There might be a possibility that the nail may detach from the nail bed and fall off in some time (around 5-6 months).
If the blood is still raw and throbbing then consider visiting a specialist to relieve the pain and pressure caused by it.
