Pink eye often known as conjunctivitis is a common form of eye infection. Try these home remedies to ease your condition -
- Warm water compresses when applied with the help of a clean cotton cloth helps to ease the condition and gives relief.
- Place warm moist tea bags on your eyes, the tannins in tea will help to reduce the puffiness and swelling.
- A piece of cold bread placed on the eye will also help ease inflammation.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes as this might increase the burning sensation and spread the infection.
- Before sleeping put the ointment prescribed by your specialist as this will help you to easily open the eye in the morning.
- This is a contagious condition so avoid sharing your towels and handkerchiefs with other members of the family.
If these remedies are not helpful then consult a specialist to know and treat the underlying cause for your bloodshot eyes.
