Menstrual cramps can be very painful and annoying; sometimes they can be due to some underlying factors like endometriosis or pelvic infection. Consult a specialist to know the cause and follow these simple cures.
  • For quick relief opt for non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs.

These will not only help you to ease the pain but also treat diarrhea or breast pain associated with menstrual cramps.
  • A mild walk will help to elevate your mood and reduce the muscle tension. It may also help improve blood circulation in the pelvic region this reducing the cramps. You can also choose stretching exercises or yoga.
  • Heating pad or a warm compress applied on the lower back or on the belly would also help to reduce the cramps.
  • Make an herbal tea using fresh ginger root. Ginger will help to alleviate the pain.
  • Increase the intake of calcium and magnesium, these minerals will help to prevent cramps and maintain normal muscle tone. They can be included in the form of milk and milk products, fish, tofu, nuts, whole grains and buckwheat.
