Home cure to stop sneezing
- Sneezing is one of the symptoms of common cold. When we sneeze, nasal mucus comes out and this helps in removing germs from the system. But if it becomes uncontrollable, then you will have to resort to some home cures.
Try a few of them and take some precautions along the way. - Sip on chicken soup as the heat and aroma helps in clearing the nasal passage and speedy disposal of mucus.
- Store up on as much clear liquids as possible. Tea, soups, juices and water replace lost fluid due to running nose and sneezing and swill out impurities.
- Gargle with warm water mixed with one tablespoon of salt in it for 4-5 times a day. This not only gives relief from sore throat which is the usual accompaniment of sneezing but also brings out more mucus from the mouth. This helps in the reduction of sneezing.
- Avoid smoking and rest for as long as you can.
- Boil a pot of water, cover your head with a towel and inhale the steam till it subsides. This clears the nasal passage and mucus comes out easily from the nose.
- Apply a layer of any petroleum jelly to your nose, chest and back. Cover yourself and go off to sleep. Sneezing would have settled by the time you wake up.
