The soy is good for a person with cancer?

Soybeans are the seeds of a plant called Soy. This plant is from the leguminosae family and is an important source of complete proteins. Soybeans are as beneficial nutritionally as eggs and milk.


They contain a lot of vitamins and iron, fat, zinc, magnesium, carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. It has been scientifically proved that soy intake helps decrease the progression and the risk of prostate and breast cancer. In some cases, it has been used as an alternative for hormonal therapy for people who have a history of fibroids, blood clots and breast cancer. Isoflavone, a compound found in soybeans has the ability to control the conversion of normal cells into cancer calls. It also has the ability to control or negate the effects of hormones that lead to the growth of ovarian and breast cancers. Soybeans also help control the blood sugar levels and therefore is beneficial for diabetes. It also helps in reduction of cholesterol levels in the blood and is therefore a good diet for people suffering from heart ailments. Soybean and various other soy products can be used to reduce the risks of getting osteoporosis by preventing bone loss.  

Other remedies that can be used for breast cancer are grapes, green tea, garlic and broccoli. Breast cancer can be caused due to various reasons including consumption of alcohol and the intake of estrogen or progesterone. Breast cancer is characterized by a constant discharge coming from the nipple or the inverted state of the nipples. Home remedies that are available for breast cancer are not effective in terms of getting a complete cure from the disease but for minimizing its effects and making the body more apt to fight it out.

Breast cancer is not completely curable but there are measures that can help prevent its occurrence and the most common measure is to lead a balanced life. You need to eat healthy and nutritious meals that can make your system active and immune enough to fight cancer cells. Cancer patients tend to go through a series of radiation and chemical therapy sessions and the diet in these cases need to be well thought of to address various side effects of the treatment such as nausea and hair loss. You should increase the amount of garlic you consume through your diet, as it has antibiotic properties and this helps to deal with bacterial infections that may happen due to the use of immunosuppressant drugs. It is best consumed in its raw form, as cloves.

Cancer diet -

Foods such as broccoli, garlic, cauliflower, berries, onion, wheat grass, spirulina and sprouts are beneficial against cancer. Improper balance between diet and lifestyle causes cancer and exercise plays a vital role in preventing the same. Soy is a legume, which is a complete protein. It is as good as meat in animal foods, in its supply of proteins. Research reveals the correlation between soy intake and decrease in the risk of cancer and other degenerative disorders. It is a good source of antioxidants and helps in protecting oxidative damage to the cell. Phytochemicals in soy proves beneficial in contributing too many of its therapeutic value. Soy comprises of saponins, phytates, genistein and protease inhibitors. Genistein is a component, which mimics direct tumor cell differentiation, wherein cancer cells are slowed down and thereby prevented. Colon cancer, lung and breast cancer are prevented by consumption of soy. In vitro inhibition of cells of prostate cancer is observed. Soy is a good source of fiber, folic acid, potassium and other minerals and vitamins. They have lesser amounts of trans fats and saturated fats. The risk of osteoporosis and other bone related problems are reduced. Hot flashes, associated with menopause are reduced.
